Zohar Shemot 88A

Rabbi Shimon said: When a man has completed the three meals on Shabbat, a voice comes forth and proclaims of him: "Then shall you delight yourself in G‑d" (Isaiah 58:14). This is in reference to one [the first] meal (on Friday night), which corresponds to Atika Kadisha, the holiest of all the holy levels.

Therefore, he who has attained the level of faith must prepare a table and a meal on Shabbat eve so that his table may be blessed all through the other six days. For at that time, blessing is prevalent for all the six week days, for blessing cannot dwell on an empty table. Therefore, one should make ready the table on Shabbat eve with bread and other foods.

Rabbi Yitzhak said: Also on Shabbat day. Rabbi Yehudaadded: One must enjoy himself on this day and eat three meals, in order that there will be satisfaction and pleasure in the world on that day.

Although "it is forbidden to light a fire in all your dwellings on Shabbat", it was allowed to lite a fire on Shabbat in the Beit Hamikdash to offer a sacrifice, which is essentially cooking for the people.

The reason why we don't light a fire on Shabbat is to not activate Judgement.

For example, a fire could cause a burn, and since G-D rests on Shabbat, He doesn't want to be disturbed?...

...but obviously there was an exception for the Holy Temple's purpose...

וזהו כלל בכל סטרא דקדושה שאינו אלא מה שנמשך מחכמה, שנקראת קודש העליון

Now this is a general principle in the whole realm of holiness: Holiness (קדושה) is only that which derives from Chochmah, called קודש העליון — “supernal holiness.”

כדכתיב: החכמה תחיה בעליה

as it is written,7 “Wisdom gives life to those who possess it” — the soul, which possesses the faculty of wisdom, receives its life by means of this faculty, as stated above.

ולפעמים ממשיכים פושעי ישראל נשמות גבוהות מאד שהיו בעמקי הקליפות, כמו שכתוב בספר גלגולים

The Holy Zohar's Prophecy of the Future of Yerushalaym...a thousand years beforehand and hundreds of years before the rise of Islam...

And in the future, the children of Ishmael are destined to rule over the Holy Land for a long time when it is empty from anything, like their circumcision which is empty and imperfect. And they will prevent the children of Israel from returning to their place until the reward for the merit of the children of Ishmael reaches completion.

ויזכה לבחינת רוח משרש איזה צדיק שתתעבר בו, לעבוד ה׳ בשמחה אמיתית

and it will be granted him that the [soul-level of] Ruach, originating in the soul of some tzaddik, will be “impregnated” in him, so that he may serve G‑d with joy.
